In Math there will be a test on 2 digit addition on Wednesday, 2/21/12.  On Thursday we will begin to subtract 2 digit numbers and regroup.  

In Social Studies we will be learning about the Native Americans and Spanish Explorers/focus on St. Augustine Florida.

In Science we are learning about Earth's Water. I will be assigning a small water project on Friday, which will be due next Friday.

In Reading we will be reading non-fiction selections, How Honey is Made and "The Bee."  There will be an oral fluency reading test on Friday.  We will also be learning past tense verbs.

Next Week is Dr. Seuss Week.  I would like the Second Grade Students to bring in all of their Dr. Seuss books,  Make sure they have their name in the book.  If they have any Dr. Seuss characters, they may bring them in for the week as well.  More details will follow.  We will be doing fun activities, no regular Spelling test, however, we will be doing a lot of rhyming to Dr. Seuss words!

On Wednesday, the students will attend the noon Ash Wednesday Mass.

Welcome to Second Grade

This will be an exciting year for us!  We will be receiving First Penance and First Holy Communion.
